A vine that finds its <strong>great excellences<\/strong> both in the Asti and Alba area.<\/p>\n<p>Here, we have a <strong>Barbera d&#8217;Alba of Monforte<\/strong>, a terroir with a very high vocation.<\/p>\n<h2>The vine<\/h2>\n<p>A few words about the vine: a<strong> red berry<\/strong>, with a <strong>medium maturation<\/strong> inclination; it is very widespread in Piedmont, as in the rest of Italy, particularly in the north.<\/p>\n<p>It is characterized by a<strong> constitutional acidity<\/strong> of a certain level and a presence of <strong>coloring matter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The territory is that of the Langhe, a territory with a high vocation. Monforte, in particular, has <strong>a terroir with a high vocation<\/strong> for Nebbiolo grapes used to make Barolo.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>vineyard\u2019s<\/strong> cultivation <strong>fully respects the environment<\/strong> with integrated pest control. Herbicides and\/or chemical products are not used and it has <strong>a low density per hectare<\/strong> and green vegetation control. I would say, <strong>viticulture of the highest quality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The winery simply enhances what the <strong>winemaker<\/strong>, <strong>Claudio Pressenda<\/strong> from Monforte, has created and as a result it too <strong>fully respects the raw material<\/strong>: regular fermentation, short macerations, aging in stainless steel and <strong>a very light passage in wood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Sensory analysis<\/h2>\n<p>Leading on from the above description, let&#8217;s see what this wine represents at a sensorial level.<\/p>\n<h3>Color<\/h3>\n<p>Let&#8217;s start with the <strong>color<\/strong>: a wonderful <strong>garnet red<\/strong> color, a wine that has been preserved for not too long in wood; its color is still vivid, beautiful, and <strong>intense<\/strong> with<strong> excellent chromaticity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Its <strong>viscosity<\/strong> is <strong>perfect<\/strong>, as are the tears. It is a very <strong>pristine<\/strong> wine.<\/p>\n<h3>Aroma<\/h3>\n<p>To the nose, its <strong>scent<\/strong> is quite <strong>spicy<\/strong>, evident, I would say of the highest level: <strong>finesse<\/strong>, <strong>elegance<\/strong>, and persistence are clearly present.<\/p>\n<p>The spicy hint is linked to its preservation in wood, which will eventually evolve into even <strong>more interesting notes<\/strong> that will then be reminiscent of <strong>camphor<\/strong>, a <strong>balsamic<\/strong> nuance and other wood essences.<\/p>\n<h3>Flavor<\/h3>\n<p>Upon tasting, it is clearly a <strong>full<\/strong> Barbera; <strong>structured<\/strong>, <strong>warm<\/strong>, <strong>tannic<\/strong>, <strong>well-balanced<\/strong>, full-bodied and with a good persistence.<\/p>\n<p>It is a wine that <strong>evolves optimally<\/strong> and can be excellently preserved for several years.<\/p>\n<h2>Serving and pairing<\/h2>\n<p>It should be <strong>served at a temperature<\/strong> ranging between <strong>18-20 \u00b0C<\/strong>, in large glasses.<\/p>\n<p>Pairing: Barbera is versatile and thus goes well with all meat or vegetable <strong>appetizers<\/strong>, yet also with <strong>pasta dishes<\/strong>, agnolotti, ravioli with plin and above all with risottos. <strong>Excellent with meat<\/strong>, braised meats and <strong>medium-aged cheeses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Barbera Gramolere 2014 is a great wine from a great territory.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/shop.langhe.net\/en\/product\/barbera-alba-doc-gramolere-en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You can buy our Barbera d&#8217;Alba at ShopLanghe &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we\u2019ll be looking at Barbera d\u2019Alba DOC; a 2014 vintage by Cascina Gramolere.
